Social Watch training workshop for the African region

Strengthening the work of the Social Watch network and its national coalitions in the African region was the main objective of the training workshop that took place in Nairobi, Kenya, 13–14 August 2010 with over 30 participants of civil society organizations in the continent. 

Co-organized by the Social Development Network (SODNET) and the Social Watch International Secretariat, the capacity-building workshop focused on methodologies for evidence-based advocacy on the critical areas of poverty alleviation and gender equality, deepening of issues around governance and transparency, use of new technologies (ICTs) for citizen’s agency and sharing of best practices by grassroots activists. A public/cultural event was organized at the end of the workshop.
