The Tunisian League for Human Rights, focal point of Social Watch, condemned the attempts by the European Union and the United States to deny the humanitarian Freedom Flotilla 2 from sealing toward Gaza, reported the news portal TunisiaLive.net.

The flotilla consists of 10 ships, which have on their boar human rights activists from different nationalities

The Tunisian League for Human Rights also expressed its condemnation to the position of the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, who requested the European Union’s leaders to stop any attempt to break the blockade on Gaza under the pretext of avoiding possible acts of violence.

Once the message was received, the Greek government prevented the ships from leaving the port regardless of the ship’s nationality.

This act is clearly against the decision of the UN numbered 1860 in 2009 and the recommendations of Goldstone Report. Both are calling for the immediate remove of the blockade on Gaza describing the situation there as very critical.

One ship already left Greece which called “Dignity”. This last can be harmed with references to what happened last year to the first Freedom Flotilla. “Dignity” is now located at the international see on its way toward Gaza and contains 12 passengers including the Tunisian activist Omaya Seddik representing the Tunisian Federation for Citizenship in Both Banks.

The Tunisian League for Human Rights announced that it will organize more flotillas with the participation of many Tunisians in order to stop the blockade.
