Call for Applications: Apply Now for the 2025 Global South Study Week in Beirut, Lebanon Deadline: August 20, 2025 Are you a young civil society activist from the Global South working on development, macroeconomic issues, multilateralism, governance, gender, climate, digital justice? Are you advocating for sustainable human development and addressing inequalities in your region? Would you like to take part in a fully-funded week of knowledge exchange, advocacy, and regional solidarity in Beirut? The Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND), Third World Network, Social Watch, Global Policy Forum, and the Asfari Institute at AUB invite you to apply to the Global South Study Week 2025 on: “Alternatives in Governance and Sustainable Human Development” When: Week of November 10, 2025 Where: Beirut, Lebanon Costs: Travel and accommodation are fully covered Language: Interpretation provided but basic English is desirable Why Apply? - Participate in in-depth discussions with civil society peers from the Global South - Build your knowledge of global development frameworks and policy alternatives - Join a long-term network of Study Week alumni and regional collaborators - Strengthen your advocacy and engagement at national, regional, and international levels About the Program The Study Week builds on years of successful collaboration to address shared structural challenges to sustainable human development. It supports civil society actors in: - Enhancing their positions on global development issues - Building collective advocacy strategies grounded in solidarity and equity - Promoting systemic change from the Global South perspective Who Should Apply? We are looking for passionate young people who are: - Under 40 years old - From a Global South country - Holding a university degree in development, economics, political/social sciences, international relations, or human rights - Endorsed by a local, national, or regional NGO - Active in advocacy or coordination work on one or more of the following: - Development, multilateralism, global governance - Debt, trade and investment, tax justice - Social justice, climate change, biodiversity, agriculture, gender justice Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the Selection Committee Representatives.
