Independent monitoring and review of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its structural obstacles and challenges are key factors for the success of the SDGs. It is for this reason, the Reflection Group on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development together with other civil society organizations and networks has produced the first annual Spotlight Report assessing the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the structural obstacles in its realization. The report puts a spotlight on the fulfillment of the 17 goals, with a particular focus on inequalities, responsibility of the rich and powerful, means of implementation and systemic issues.
What are currently the main obstacles to achieving the SDGs? Are there transnational spill over effects that influence or even undermine the implementation of the goals? Are the current policy approaches, as they are reflected, inter alia, in the 2030 Agenda, an adequate response to the challenges and obstacles (or are they part of the problem)? What has to be done? Which specific policy changes (at international level) are necessary?

“Means and ends”: The ENDS (or goals) of humanity have already been agreed and include health and education for all, gender justice, peace, human rights, and the right to a development that ensures universal dignity within the planetary boundaries. The MEANS are available to achieve this, but inequalities stand on the way.

El Anuario de la Plataforma 2015 y más ofrece una reflexión sobre la agenda global de desarrollo en un momento de debilitamiento generalizado de las políticas públicas que, en el Norte y en el Sur, amenazan el bienestar global. En su edición de 2011, la Plataforma 2015 y más pretende ofrecer argumentos para la construcción de una agenda de desarrollo —en el marco de la agenda post 2015— basada en la idea de la interrelación y el fortalecimiento de las políticas públicas como ejes para la gobernanza global, entendida esta como la extensión de los derechos humanos y el bienestar al conjunto de los habitantes del planeta. Para ello el Anuario recoge una serie de artículos que se estructuran en tres apartados que desde diferentes perspectivas abordan la construcción de esta agenda.

Por toda parte, as crescentes desigualdades e a desregulamentação das finanças estão destituindo as pessoas da parte que lhes cabe nos benefícios da prosperidade mundial. Nossos filhos terão por legado o ônus do desflorestamento, da desertificação, da diminuição da biodiversidade e da mudança climática. Para reverter essa tendência, a promessa de dignidade universal que aportam os direitos humanos tem que ser implementada e os direitos das futuras gerações têm que ser reconhecidos e devidamente defendidos.
